No Visa For Minors

In its bid to encourage tourism during what is sometimes referred to as the slow season, the government, has introduced an amendment in the current tourist visa rule.

Under the new law, children below 18 are exempt from visa fees during the summer season from 15 July to 15 September each year. Apparently, the new law will be a win-win situation for families as well as the UAE, as it will reduce the cost of travelling, and will be a boost to the tourism economy of the country. The decision also reflects the UAE’s vision to be positioned as one of the prime tourist destinations in the world.

The number of passengers traveling through the country's airports reached 32.8 million passengers during the first three months of this year.

In the month of June, other amendments to visa rules were annouced to encourage tourism which included exemptions from paying transit visa fees for the first 48 hours. The visa can also be extended for 96 hours for a fees of Dhs 50.
