An elderly man called Ajman Police every day for three months. The man, who ‘wanted someone to talk to,’ called the emergency services every day at 12am. The conversations between the man and the services consisted of reciting his written poetry and talking about his life.
Police obliged the man, who seemed lonely, by accepting the call in “a very humane and professional way.”
They then transferred the 80-year-old man to the 901 hotline - which is for non-emergency cases.
If you have parents, grandparents or someone in your life who you haven’t spoken to in a while - check in!
