The International Astronomical Centre, IAC, announced that according to the astronomical observations the start of the month of Shawwal, Eid Al Fitr for Hijri year 1439, is expected to be on Friday 15 June in most Muslim countries.
The IAC said in a statement that most Islamic countries will observe the crescent of the month of Shawwal, on 14 June. On this day, the crescent can be seen from all Islamic countries with the naked eye or through a telescope if the sky is clear. Therefore, Friday, 15 June is expected to be the first day of Eid Al Fitr in most countries.
