Double Delight For Dubai At The Derby

For our horse loving Dubai Royal Family it was a fantastic afternoon at the world famous horse race the Epsom Derby in the UK. The main race of the day, the English classic Investec Derby was won by Godolphin’s Masar, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Masar was ridden to victory by William Buick and trained by Charlie Appleby, and is the first Epsom Derby win for Godolphin.

Coming in at second place in the same race was Dee Ex Bee, owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai, and ridden by Silvestre De Sousa and trained by Mark Johnson, making it a 1–2 for Dubai’s Royal Family.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed attend the event and was presented with the winners trophy. Also present were were His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, HH Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein.
