Going viral on social media can make you famous - or infamous, in seconds. For this group of teens, however, it prompted a manhunt. The Dubai Police has launched a search for two teenagers after a video of them went viral. The video shows the two Emirati boys jumping off a high altitude bridge into the water of the Dubai Water Canal. The other members of the group can be heard encouraging them away from the camera shot.
The two boys have been arrested and will be presented with a document to say that they will not repeat the stunt. Abdullah Khedem bin Soroor, director of the Bur Dubai police station, said that, “what they did was not strictly a crime, but they endangered their lives. They could have even lost their lives. They will be brought in to sign an undertaking that they would not repeat the act." Colonel Abdullah Al Zaoidi, director of Port police station, stated that there is a sign explicitly condemning the stunt on the bridge. "The two teenagers seen in the video did not abide by this instruction and put their lives in danger. They used a public facility to perform the illegal act.”
