New Park Expetced To Open Soon

A new green space - covering an area of 60 hectares - is likely to open to the public soon. This new park, coming up in the Al Khawaneej area, is going to be extra special because it aims to present the values of Islam, hence, it is named Quran Park. The park will have all the plants mentioned in the Quran and will also provide visitors an opportunity to understand the benefits of all the plants. It will also showcase how modern medicine relies heavily on them for treatment of various ailments and its benefits to the environment. Besides plants, the park will also showcase seven miracles as mentioned in the Quran and will display those  to the public with the latest modern interactive techniques.

The confirmed date for the park opening has not yet been announced, however Dubai Municipality released the information on the entry fee on Monday.

Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, announced that the Quran Park will be free entry. Those who wish to visit two special sections- Cave of Miracles and Glass House in the new park- will be charged a fee of Dhs 10 each. 

“The establishment of the Quran Park is a great achievement for the city of Dubai and it will be one of the most unique and distinctive landmarks in the emirate. It will be an open park without walls allowing everyone to benefit from its various facilities, A fee of Dh10 each will be charged for entering the Cave of Miracles and the Glass House,” Al Hajiri said.

“Among the most important elements of the project is the Glass House containing the plants mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, which grow under certain temperatures and special environmental determinants, as well as shops selling herbs and plants mentioned in the Quran,” he said.

“The park also consists of 12 gardens containing the plants mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, with its scientific and medicinal benefits and uses, including bananas, pomegranates, olives, melons, grapes, figs, garlic, leeks, onions, corn, lentils, wheat, pond beans, ginger, tamarind, basil, pumpkins and cucumbers. The park will have solar panels, Wi-Fi system, phone-charging stations and shaded seating for visitors,” said Al Hajiri.
