Ramadan Dates Announced

The UAE’s neighbouring country of Oman has announced its Ramadan start date. The Ministry of Endowments and Religious affairs in Oman has officially stated that Thursday, May 17 will mark the start of the holy month.

Oman's ministry tends to declare Ramadan independently of the rest of the Gulf, however the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia traditionally begin fasting on the same day.

Islamic months vary between 29 to 30 days in length depending on the appearance of the moon.

It is likely that Eid Al Fitr will then begin or fall on the evening of Thursday, June 14 until the evening of Sunday, June 17.
