“Never give up on your dreams because they do come true”, said Donna Benton, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Entertainer who sold her Dubai based discount and offers company for a whopping price of around Dhs 367 million. The exact figure was not disclosed, however Benton confirmed on a radio show last Sunday that the final deal was nine digits in US dollars. So, if we do our maths, it must be a minimum of 100 million dollars or in local terms, Dhs 367 million.
Benton sold an 85 percent stake in the Entertainer to GFH Financial Group, a Bahrain-based financial group.
The 43-year-old Australian took to Instagram to announce the deal by posting an image of herself signing off the contract in front of her children.
The Instagram post said, " A proud moment as I signed over a majority stake in the company that I've lived and breathed for the last 17 years. Emotional as I reflect on where I started in 2001 to where the Entertainer is today. Never give up on your dreams because they do come true. Signing the deal at home with the two people I love so much couldn’t have made me happier. It’s the journey that makes you the person you are today.”
