Dubai Government To Announce Own Public Holidays

With seven public holidays remaining this year, Dubai’s Department of Human Resources released a statement that from now on they will be releasing official announcements for public holidays.

The resolution the department released stated that the announcing of the holidays will be done by the “competent authorities in the UAE” and was issued  by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. It also states that the department will be “taking into consideration the working mechanisms and hours of governmental bodies and organisations”

So far Dubai has had a couple public holidays, the last being Isra’a Wal Miraj on Saturday 14 April. The next to be announced will be in June at the end of Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr.
