In the wake of fraudulent scams in the UAE, Lulu Hypermarket has issued a statement warning its customers against the fake messages promising huge prize money from the hypermarket. In the latest scam, customers receive fake messages that they have won vouchers from Lulu Hypermarket. The text message contains a link that leads to a website that then asks for the bank and credit card details of the customer.
The Lulu Group has lodged a complaint against the scam with the relevant authorities and has advised customers to take extreme caution when sharing personal or bank details online. The group also warned its customers on their Facebook page and advised customers to check their verified social media pages to find all genuine offers and promotions from them.
In a statement, Lulu Group said, “Lulu Group hereby declares that it never contacts and has not authorised anyone to contact its customers or common public for their banking, credit card or any similar details.”
“The public is advised to exercise extreme caution while dealing with anyone asking for their bank card or other personal details and report the matter to the concerned authorities. Lulu Group has already lodged an official complaint with the concerned police authorities against such fraudsters.”
