Regular passengers of the Metro Red Line between Jumeirah Lake Towers and Ibn Battuta Stations, fret not! As many may know by now, there will be a full closure on the line for new construction efforts of Route 2020 that intends to build a new station and link it to the route. But luckily the Roads and Transport Authority will be providing a free alternative bus service due to the closure. The bus service will start 5 January until mid-2019 when construction should be complete.
“This service is intended to meet the needs of public transport riders in general and metro riders commuting between the said two stations in particular. RTA is always keen to fulfil the needs of public transport users in Dubai, and offer integrated excellent services to customers with the aim of making them happier” said Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashmi, Director of Planning and Business Development, RTA’s Public Transport Agency.
Commuters will have access to the free bus service going both ways, towards UAE Exchange or Rashidiya, and then can continue their regular route on the metro.
