Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Google co-founder Sergey Brin on January 2nd and the company giant and national leader share a common affinity.
Shaikh Hamdan shared his meeting with the Google and Alphabet Inc founder on Twitter and introspectively shared how Dubai and Google’s roots and mission display much similarity. The Prince went on to say that as Dubai continues to strive in its innovative and technological development, Google has exemplified the same vision and that both the country and company ‘share a desire to build the future’.
Shaikh Hamdan also shared how Google started in Sergey, and his friend Larry page’s, dorm room and is now a $600 billion company. In contrast, Dubai’s leaders targeted early on the importance of technological development in society, the country and its people. Today, according to the World Economic Forum, Dubai has a paramount track record of implementing information and communications technologies, and its tech industry is one of the fastest growing in the world.
The meeting of both these individuals embody inspirations for innovators of now and the future.
