A man is being examined by a special committee of psychiatrists after trying to kill his ex-wife with acid. After he forced his way into the woman's office and locked the door behind him so she could not escape, he attacked her.
The assailant poured acid over her, which impacted the majority of the victim's body, leaving her with up to 80 percent burns.
The man, a GCC national, is facing a premeditated attempted murder charge, however, he is set to be examined by a committee of psychiatrists, in order to determine whether he is mentally stable and therefore responsible for his actions.
Prosecutors believe the man's intention was to kill his ex-wife and that the defendant had disputes with his ex-wife that lead him to plan the attack. He was taken to hospital after accidentally burning his hands in the process.
