Conforming to the Year of Giving, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) presented wheelchairs to 10 people of determination at the head office in Garhoud.
RTA has also announced that they’re adopting a new policy to support those with disabilities by donating brand-new wheelchairs each month.
In association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA), this initiative is in line to make Dubai’s public buildings and city facilities friendly for people with disabilities by 2020.
This year we also saw people of determination get beach access with the introduction of new passages and signs. Soon, old areas and buildings will also be modified to be disabled-friendly by 2020 and all new projects are expected to comply with the regulations.
