The pedestrian bridge over Dubai Canal has a new name. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has announced that the bridge will now be called 'Tolerance Bridge.'
The new name is in honour of the 22nd International Day of Tolerance on 16 November.
HH Sheikh Mohammed tweeted a video yesterday which states that, “Love and tolerance are bridges of communication and a universal language, binding humanity across different languages, religions and cultures. These are the foundations of the Emirates.”
The video also says that the nation and tolerance are "two sides of the same coin”.
