A new bridge is set to clear up Sharjah-Dubai traffic

In an attempt to ease Sharjah-Dubai traffic, The Ministry of Infrastructure Development is building a major bridge. The bridge will start in Sharjah’s Al Beda area and will head both north and east.

This is set to increase the flow of traffic from northern and eastern emirates towards Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The manager of roads department at the ministry, Ahmed Al Hammadi said that “the bridge consists of six lanes on the Emirates Road and three lanes on the Sharjah-Mleiha Road.” He also added, ”The project will significantly boost the capacity of the road from 9,900 to 17,700 vehicles per hour in all directions.”

According to the ministry, the project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of next year.
