The world's innovation hub- Dubai is now home to four new cool gadgets deployed by Dubai Police to make UAE a safer place to live in.
One such is the dual powered Hoversurf, which can fly at a height of five metres, either carrying a policeman or can be operated remotely. It has a flying time of over 25 minutes at a speed of 70km/h, carrying a weight of up to 300 kg with a fully charged battery and almost an hour when traditionally fuelled.
The second innovation is the electric motorcycle equipped with eight cameras linked to the operating room. It is enabled to take 360-degree photos of any violations. The motorcycle reaches a top speed of 200km/h and can run for eight hours on a single charge.
Also new on the smart-tech block is the self-driving police vehicle capable of recording and transmitting live footage directly to the operating room. It is also equipped with cameras, radar and a drone, which can be dispatched to follow suspects who attempt to escape.
Robocop, which was unveiled earlier this year, is the 100kg artificial intelligence system that can recognise gestures and hand signals from up to 5 metres away. With an in-built emotion detector, and the ability to recognise human gestures and facial expressions, Robocop will eventually be used to chase down suspects and nab parking fee nonpayers.
Dubai Police is harnessing technology in a bid to prevent criminal activity.
