Dubai Police have introduced a new device, Smart Controller, to catch offenders who put other road users lives in danger.
Smart Controller, is in line with Dubai Police’s initiative to make the UAE as safe as possible, will monitor roads and make sure serious traffic offences don’t go unnoticed or unpunished.
Director of Traffic Department Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui said the new device is more advanced than existing devices and radars as it has high-resolution imagery and better accuracy.
The device is installed in addition to existing radars and cameras to reduce common traffic offences such as driving on the hard shoulder, jumping the queue in tailbacks, or driving irresponsibly making it unsafe for pedestrians and other motorists.
The device will be controlled by officers via their smartphones and can be fixed on a fence. It has the ability to move automatically with the advanced cameras able to read car number plates and catching motorists speeding using the hard shoulder.
Make sure you follow the rules to avoid being caught on Smart Controller and paying hefty fines.
