With the Eid long weekend behind us, those looking forward to their next holiday will not have too long to wait. The next public holiday should be Al Hijri (Islamic New Year) which is expected to fall on Thursday 21 September which would mean another long weekend.
There is a chance it could fall on the Friday but we could still have the long weekend as in previous years there has still been one-day holiday called when Al Hijri fell on the weekend.
The following public holiday is Prophet Mohammed’s birthday on Thursday 30 November which is expected to coincide with Commemoration Day (Martyrs Day).
Islamic holiday dates are dependent on moon sightings and may differ from the dates given.
Then finally, the last one of the year, National Day which falls on Saturday 2 December with Sunday 3 December likely to be called as a day off which means another long weekend!
