The first document required to apply for a driver’s licence is a NOC (no objection certificate) from your employer. Getting this will now take less than three minutes thanks to RTA’s new online system. Launched yesterday, this system will enable employers to issue NOCs to their employees who want to obtain a driver’s licence without the hassles of preparing and endorsing letters. To use the service, the employee's company must sign up on the RTA website and open an account for the transaction. It’s as simple as that! The idea is to gradually phase out the existing paper-based transactions and boost smart services, in line with the strategic goals of Smart Dubai and People Happiness.
