Dubai Safari Park: The countdown begins

Dubai Media Office has released a video of Dubai Safari Park with the caption, “The countdown begins”. Located in Al Warqa opposite Dragon Mart, the 119-hectare park is expected to be home to over 4,000 animals and will replace Dubai Zoo in Jumeirah.

Built on a former construction waste landfill site that has been reclaimed and levelled to provide a home for all the rare animals that will be housed here, the park is divided into three main villages - African, Arabic, Safari - each with its own unique features, designs, animals and plants. At a cost of Dhs 1 billion the park will feature an Open Safari in which visitors will be able to get up close to animals while travelling in electric vehicles, a botanical garden, solar powered valley, waterfall and lake.

The delayed project has yet to be given an official opening date.
