The UAE Federal Traffic Council has recommended lifting the ban of trucks on Emirates Road to encourage truck drivers to use the road and reduce the traffic on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, an official said yesterday (Wednesday).
Major-General Mohammad Saif Al Zafein, Head of the Federal Traffic Council and Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Operations Affairs, said they approved a recommendation to allow trucks to use Emirates road all the time.
“We recommend to lift the ban on trucks to encourage the drivers to use the road in order to reduce truck traffic Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road,” Maj-Gen Al Zafein said.
The decision made during a meeting of Federal Traffic Council members in Dubai Police Officers Club.
