Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed major road infrastructure upgrades along a 1.1 kilometre stretch of Al Marabea Street, spanning from the Al Khail Road exit to Al Asayel Street.
The project increases overall road capacity by 30% and slashes peak-hour journey times by up to 30%, directly benefiting motorists travelling through Al Quoz, Business Bay, and Downtown Dubai.
The targeted interventions addressed key bottlenecks in the area. At the junction leading to Street 16A, engineers added a dedicated lane for turning traffic, a modification that has cut vehicle queues and local intersection delays by half. Modern lighting infrastructure was also installed across the upgraded corridor to improve night-time visibility and overall road safety.
Beyond easing immediate thoroughfare congestion, Al Marabea Street serves as a vital arterial link connecting industrial, commercial, and residential sectors in Al Quoz with major highways such as Al Khail Road. For Dubai residents and commuters driving between central business districts and south-western neighbourhoods, the reduced tailbacks offer a noticeably smoother daily commute.
A second phase of construction is currently underway on Al Marabea Street and is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2026. This ongoing work involves building a new dedicated service road alongside a continuous pedestrian walkway for the adjacent industrial zone, as well as constructing a new direct access point at the onset of the Al Khail Road exit to further optimize regional traffic distribution.
