Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open a new 500-metre, two-lane bridge on Friday, 14 August 2026, directing traffic from the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and One Central development directly onto the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Za'abeel Palace Street.
The infrastructure upgrade is designed to streamline traffic output during major exhibitions and corporate conventions, cutting vehicle exit times from the venue from 10 minutes down to two minutes.
The structure is a key component of the ongoing Dhs 633 million Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project. Spanning from Za'abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street, the overall scheme involves constructing 2,000 metres of total bridges and tunnels alongside widening Al Mustaqbal Street from three to four lanes in each direction. Once complete, road capacity will increase by 33%, going from 6,600 to 8,800 vehicles per hour, and reducing end-to-end journey times through the corridor from 13 minutes to six.
The area hosts major international events such as Gulfood, and Arabian Travel Market, alongside serving business hubs including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). An estimated 500,000 daily commuters, local residents, and business travellers are expected to benefit from the reduced congestion.
