The Dubai Fitness Challenge will return for its tenth edition from 31 October to 29 November 2026, marking a decade of promoting active living across the emirate.
Organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism alongside the Dubai Sports Council, the annual 30-day initiative calls on residents and visitors of all fitness levels to complete 30 minutes of daily physical activity.
The milestone edition will feature the city's signature mass-participation events, including Dubai Run, Dubai Ride, Dubai Stand Up Paddle, and Dubai Yoga. Free community Fitness Villages and localised Fitness Hubs will also open across residential neighbourhoods and business hubs, allowing participants easy access to daily sessions and group workouts.
Launched in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the initiative aimed to make physical activity a core part of everyday life. The inaugural edition saw 786,000 participants, while recent editions have drawn over three million attendees in a single month, taking total participation past 16 million people across its nine-year run.
Beyond organising events, the initiative has driven structural changes to urban infrastructure. The expansion of dedicated cycling tracks, running loops, and outdoor gym installations across Dubai and regional areas like Hatta has made regular exercise accessible year-round for residents commuting between home, work, and community centres.
Full scheduling details, venue locations, and registration links for flagship events will be made available through the official Dubai Fitness Challenge digital platform ahead of the October start.
