The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that the high temperatures tracking through the United Arab Emirates will see a slight reprieve this week.
On Monday 20 July, the working week opens with high humidity, particularly over western coastal zones with likely early morning mist. The day will remain fair to partly cloudy, with temperatures rising, to highs of 42°C in Dubai and 45°C in Abu Dhabi and overnight lows lingering around 33°C in Dubai and 32°C in Abu Dhabi.
A noticeable drop in peak temperatures begins on Tuesday 21 July, primarily affecting coastal areas including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where temperatures will reach 40°C in Dubai and 41°C in Abu Dhabi. The sky will turn cloudy over northern parts of the country at intervals.
The slight downward trend in temperature continues into Wednesday 22 July. While actual thermometer readings will drop slightly to 39°C in Dubai and 40°C in Abu Dhabi, a high relative humidity level means the air will still feel thick and heavy for anyone stepping outside.
The humidity returns with full force by Thursday 23 July morning, bringing a high chance of early morning fog and low mist over internal and coastal locations. As the sun clears the haze, skies will remain fair to partly cloudy across all emirates. Daytime highs will stabilise around 40°C in Dubu and to 41°C in Abu Dhabi.
