More Flame Trees To Be Planted

Dubai Media Office

Dubai will see more flame trees planted across the city, following an announcement by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation.

The trees, known for their bright red and orange flowers, will be added to roads, parks and residential areas as part of a wider beautification plan.

The initiative supports Dubai’s efforts to enhance green spaces, improve air quality and provide more shade in public areas. The tree’s canopy spans up to 15 metres wide, and provides enough shade reducing the temperature underneath by around 5ºC.

Planting will take place in phases, with authorities ensuring the trees are suitable for the local climate and can be maintained effectively.

The move reflects Dubai’s continued focus on sustainability and creating more liveable communities.
