Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (SZGMC) has launched the 'Dhay' photography competition, a new artistic initiative that celebrates creativity and cultural dialogue through the lens.
Participants, from professionals to emerging talents, are invited to submit photographs captured at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah and Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah. Images can be taken with either cameras or mobile phones, highlighting the accessibility and universal nature of the art form.
The competition offers cash prizes of Dhs 5,000, Dhs 3,000 and Dhs 1,000 for the top three winners. Submissions are open until 30 November.
Photographers visiting any of the four mosques may submit their entries by tagging the official 'Spaces of Light' Instagram account by using the hashtags '#DHAY1' and '#SPACESOFLIGHT'. For more details, visit their official website.
An extension of SZGMC's acclaimed 'Spaces of Light' award, this first edition of the photography competition focusses on the theme of 'Reflection', encouraging photographers to explore light, symmetry and emotion within the UAE’s grand mosques.
