Preparations are underway to move GITEX GLOBAL to their new home at Expo City Dubai. The world-renowned technology event will take place at the new location next year from 7 to 11 December 2026, launching a new phase in its 45-year journey. Expand North Star, the startup and investor event will also be relocated to Expo City Dubai.
The newly designated venue, Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City, will undergo a USD 2.7 billion expansion, becoming the largest purpose-built indoor events space in the region.
Prior to this, GITEX GLOBAL has been held at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) during the months of September or October. This year's edition of GITEX GLOBAL, which will take place from 13 to 17 October, will be the last one happening at DWTC.
The preparations for this significant change is ongoing under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
The move to December also places GITEX at the centre of Dubai’s high tourism season, offering international visitors the opportunity to engage in both business and leisure. The event will transform the city into a live innovation hub, supported by collaborations with leading sectors including hospitality, sports, eco-tourism, and wellness, and also boosting economic activity and creating employment opportunities in the region.
The 2026 edition, dubbed 'GITEX 5.0', is also set to introduce a fresh concept, 'TechCation', merging technology and lifestyle through citywide activations designed to attract global talent, investors and innovators. The launch of this innovative concept is directed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan.
