'Al Freej Fridge' Launched To Support Dubai’s Workers

WAM

As summer temperatures soar, a heartwarming humanitarian campaign is bringing relief to those who need it most. The second edition of 'Al Freej Fridge', launched by Ferjan Dubai with support from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), and the UAE Food Bank, is now underway across Dubai.

Running until 23 August, the initiative will distribute over 2 million bottles of water, juices, and frozen treats to Dubai’s frontline workers, such as cleaners, construction workers, delivery drivers, and landscapers, many of whom spend long hours outdoors in sweltering conditions.

This campaign is not just about hydration, but also about community compassion. With roaming refrigerated trucks delivering cold drinks directly to outdoor work sites, and fixed fridges installed in worker accommodations, the effort ensures consistent access to refreshments for those facing the harsh summer heat.

Key government-backed partners are ensuring the campaign’s efficiency with Suqia supplying large quantities of bottled water and the UAE Food Bank offering warehouse storage, refrigerated vehicles, and trained volunteers for timely delivery.

But perhaps most inspiring is the volunteer-driven spirit of the initiative. Residents from across Dubai are encouraged to take part, using their personal vehicles to deliver beverages and helping stock the 'Al Freej Fridges', making this a true community-wide gesture of gratitude and solidarity.
