Fans of Formula 1 (F1) racing were treated to the first official trailer of Apple Original Films’ upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film brings the high-speed thrill of Formula 1 to the big screen with breathtaking cinematography.
What makes this film even more exciting for UAE residents is the prominent role of Abu Dhabi in its production. The Yas Marina Circuit, Zayed International Airport, and twofour54 Studios at Yas Creative Hub served as key filming locations, with 29 days of production in the capital. The Abu Dhabi Film Commission supported the film under its rebate scheme, alongside a local crew of 284 and the team at Epic Films, including 15 young local interns.
About The Movie
The F1 movie follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a former Formula 1 phenom whose career was cut short after an accident in the 1990's. Now, 30 years later, he’s called back to the track by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who owns a struggling F1 team on the verge of collapse.
Paired with a rising star, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), Sonny must navigate the pressures of one last chance at redemption, where teammates can be the fiercest rivals.
Filmed during actual Grand Prix weekends, the movie is expected to bring the adrenaline, drama, and spectacle of F1 racing to audiences worldwide
