Dubai is set to redefine urban aesthetics with a new initiative that will transform public spaces into vibrant artistic landmarks. Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and Dubai Municipality, this project will bring art to Dubai’s public spaces and residential neighbourhoods, reinforcing the city's reputation as a global hub for creativity and culture.

This collaboration aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which prioritises sustainable urban development and enhanced quality of life. The initiative will see public spaces adorned with art installations and sculptures, making art accessible to all while enhancing Dubai’s visual identity.

As part of the agreement,

  • Dubai Culture will curate and oversee the number of artworks and installations introduced each year.

  • Dubai Municipality will identify suitable display locations, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure the seamless integration of artworks into the city's landscape.

Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, highlighted that this project is part of the Dubai Public Art Strategy designed to transform Dubai’s streets and public squares into an open art museum.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasised the project’s role in integrating art with urban development and said: "By seamlessly integrating artistic elements with urban beautification projects, we are reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global model for sustainable and human-centred urban design, in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan".
