Etihad Airways released its preliminary traffic report for April 2024, revealing that they transported approximately 5.7 million passengers in the first four months of 2024 and expanded their fleet to 89 aircraft, operating across 68 destinations worldwide.
CEO Antonoaldo Neves expressed satisfaction with the 39% year-on-year growth in April's customer numbers, despite increased capacity compared to 2023. He emphasised that the year-to-date passenger figures, up by 41% from the same period in 2023, highlight the airline's positive growth trajectory.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, added, "These figures come from robust first-quarter 2024 financial results with Q1 earnings equivalent to the total net income for the entire financial year 2023 and underline the airline's ongoing commitment to resilience, customer service, and efficiency."
Furthermore, Neves announced plans to enhance flight offerings, including reintroducing the A380 on the New York route and introducing it to flights to Paris from 1 November. This strategic network expansion aims to align with customer demand and sustain Etihad's growth momentum.
