RTA Widens Ras Al Khor Road To Improve Traffic Flow

WAM

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed widening Ras Al Khor Road from 3 to 4 lanes across a 3km section in both directions. This enhancement spans from the Bu Kadra intersection to the Al Khail Road intersection and is a key part of RTA's initiative to enhance Dubai's infrastructure, particularly in rapidly developing areas.

Ras Al Khor Road is vital for connecting various residential and industrial zones, accommodating around 650,000 residents and facilitating ongoing development projects.

How Does The Road Widening Benefit The Residents?

Widening Ras Al Khor Road to four lanes in each direction will enhance traffic flow, boost vehicle capacity from 6,000 to 8,000 per hour, and cut down travel durations by up to 33% during rush hours.

Future Projects

Besides this, RTA will also widen the collector road for turns on Ras Al Khor Road in the direction of the Dubai-Al Ain Road from one to two lanes by the start of April. This will furthermore double the capacity from 1,000 to 2,000 vehicles per hour and enhance vehicle flow by 100%.
