Abu Dhabi Police have deployed four smart robots to display traffic safety videos and answer public enquiries to ensure passenger safety and address all requests and questions. The new robots are community-friendly and are being utilised in traffic education programmes by the police and its partners, according to Mahmoud Youssef Al Balushi, director of the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols.
To improve road safety, the robots also ask the public to obey traffic laws, warn them against unsafe activity, and answer their questions. The Central Operations Sector's director, General Ahmed Saif bin Zeitoun Al Mahiri, commented, "Using artificial intelligence has strengthened efforts and shortened time in police work."
Adding to this, Dean Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi, Director of the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols, said the new robots are community-friendly and are being used in traffic education and awareness either in initiatives carried out by Abu Dhabi Police or various events it participates in with key partners.
Abu Dhabi police announced the deployment of these robots across the city via their social media platforms.
Major Ahmed Abdullah Al Muhairi, director of the Smart Traffic Robotics Project at the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols, said trials of the robots showed successful interaction with the public, offering them specific and coherent answers about topics like the risks associated with traffic congestion, the significance of safe driving, and the value of traffic fines. The robots also encouraged the public to follow traffic laws and regulations to prevent violations.
