The UAE government has introduced the 'Work Bundle' to simplify the process of obtaining employee residency procedures and work permits in private sector companies. With the first phase set to be launched in Dubai, this initiative will gradually expand to other emirates. The 'Work Bundle' enhances the customer experience by consolidating multiple services into one platform. This new system reduces the time it takes to bring a new employee to Dubai from 30 days to just five. Moreover, the number of documents needed has been reduced from 16 to five.
It also reduces the number of procedures from 8 services to a single unified platform and reduces the required steps from 15 to just five. Moreover, the number of visits required has been reduced from seven to only two visits.
The 'Work Bundle' helps businesses by making procedures easier and faster for private sector companies. It provides a single platform for various employment services like renewal, cancellation, medical examination, and fingerprinting.
It integrates all procedures for government entities, such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, Dubai Health Authority and the Department of Economy and Tourism, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said, "The Work Bundle is set to reclaim 62 million working days previously devoted to the renewal of residencies and employment contracts within government frameworks. This project is expected to curtail 25 million procedures on an annual basis, thereby yielding substantial savings for both the governmental and private sectors."
This initiative is the outcome of collaboration between federal and local government bodies. It aims to enable clients to finish their transactions with minimal steps through digital platforms where available.
