The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has secured a spot in the top ten of the Global Soft Power Index. According to the Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024 by Brandirectory, the UAE maintains its 10th place position for the second year in a row, standing as the sole Gulf nation among the world’s top 10 soft powers.
The UAE has shown remarkable progress in its ranking and rating within the global index, which surveyed over 170,000 individuals to evaluate the 193 member states of the United Nations. It has consistently climbed the ranks, establishing itself as a significant influencer in shaping global perceptions.
The Brand Finance report analysed 55 main and sub-indicators to measure the positive reputation of countries and their ability to make a positive impact. It also aimed to understand global public perceptions and opinions on varied aspects, including investment environment, products and services, living standards, working conditions, studying opportunities, and tourism.
While the UAE secured the tenth position overall, it claimed the top spot in the 'Strong and Stable Economy' indicator. Additionally, the UAE attained the third position in the 'Generous' indicator, underscoring its sincere values and dedication to aiding others. It is also third place in the ‘Future Growth Potential’ indicator. The UAE has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to assisting countries and individuals through various humanitarian initiatives and aid efforts.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also shared this news on X, formerly known as Twitter.
