During the 4th edition of DP World's Dubai Ride on 12 November, Sheikh Zayed Road turned into a massive cycling track, hosting more than 35,000 cyclists of various ages and skill levels. These cyclists collectively covered over 546,000km, solidifying this event as the biggest community cycling event in the region.
One of the key highlights of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Ride is aligned with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, to transform the city into one of the world’s most active cities and the broader vision to make Dubai the world’s best city to live in, work and visit.
The event this year featured two separate routes, a 12km stretch along Sheikh Zayed Road and a 4km family course through Downtown. These paths showcased Dubai's key landmarks, such as the Museum of the Future, the scenic Dubai Water Canal, and the iconic Burj Khalifa.
At the beginning of Dubai Ride, Dubai Police supercars kicked off the event, and the sight of cyclists on unique bikes added an extra spark of thrill and enjoyment to the morning. Notably, the beloved event welcomed Modesh and Dana, who joyfully took part in the Downtown Family route, adding to the festive spirit.
Attendees displayed their creativity and excitement by decorating their bicycles. They crafted these embellishments at the vibrant dressing-up station located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.
On this, His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said, "Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Ride reaffirms the emirate's dedication to promoting a health-conscious and active lifestyle for everyone. Dubai Ride encourages participants to set positive goals and embrace a more active lifestyle. We are delighted with the extensive participation of individuals of various nationalities and all age groups who gathered from early morning, crafting a beautiful sports tapestry on Dubai's most iconic street.”
