We are facing challenging times, with daily loss of lives in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza. The world is calling for justice and expressing deep concern for the Palestinians who are enduring immeasurable suffering. The United Arab Emirates is among those strongly condemning the attacks and is actively providing assistance to those impacted by this crisis. Recently, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, expressed solidarity with Palestine on Instagram as the Israel-Gaza conflict continues.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, posted a story on Instagram featuring a picture of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem's Old City, along with the Palestinian flag on a historical map of Palestine. In the caption, it read, "Palestine. May God provide them with assistance and strength."
Over the weekend, more than 10,000 volunteers from various parts of the UAE came together to pack aid kits for the people of Gaza.
The campaign was scheduled for Saturday, 21 October, and Sunday, 22 October. In Dubai, it was conducted on Saturday from 9am to 2pm at Qalaat Al Remal, under the supervision of Dubai Cares. On Sunday, it ran from 9am to 2pm at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, under the direction of the Emirates Red Crescent. Additionally, another campaign was overseen by Sharjah Charity International (SCI) at Expo Centre Sharjah.
At these events, 10,100 volunteers, comprising citizens and residents, as well as various public and private institutions, joined forces to assemble a total of 25,000 relief packages with more than 550 tonnes of relief material collected.
