Abu Dhabi is set to elevate its luxury hotel offerings with a touch of Greek charm. Minor Hotels, a prominent player in the hospitality industry with a portfolio of 530 hotels and resorts in 56 countries, will unveil a new ultra-private luxury resort called the Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat, featuring just 22 keys (rooms or accommodations).
This exquisite retreat is scheduled to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2023. It promises to offer a boutique and exclusive escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Additionally, guests will have the option to book the entire resort for their exclusive use. This Santorini-inspired resort will add to Abu Dhabi's reputation as a hub for luxurious accommodation in the Middle East.
The Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat will be located in Ghantoot, a pristine coastal area about halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It offers stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, far from the busy cityscapes of both cities. The resort is located a 25-minute drive from Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport and a 35-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport, making it easily accessible for travellers coming from both directions.
Designed to capture the essence of the famous island it's named after, Anantara Santorini features low, white buildings that harmonise with the natural surroundings. These buildings house exclusive accommodation with generous interiors, sun-soaked terraces, and breathtaking sea views, ensuring a tranquil and luxurious stay.
On this, Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO, Minor Hotels, commented, “This will be an exciting new addition to our luxury portfolio of properties across the United Arab Emirates. With a fantastic location equidistant between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this ultra-private property offers exceptional facilities for full buy-outs, especially those seeking an intimate boutique experience unlike anywhere else in the UAE.”
From a private beach to an expansive outdoor pool that overlooks the Gulf, indoor cinema and spa, guests will enjoy the best of luxury the UAE has to offer. The resort will also offer private beachside cabanas and 24-hour butler service will ensure guests’ needs are fulfilled around the clock.
When it comes to dining, Anantara Santorini will offer two distinct options. One is an elegant restaurant celebrating the region's heritage, spotlighting local ingredients and spices. Additionally, in line with the property's theme, there will be an ocean-side restaurant serving authentic Greek delicacies.
