Abu Dhabi Police has completed preparations for the new 2023 to 2024 academic school year.
To prepare, traffic patrols have intensified at intersections to regulate traffic and school bus movement, and at pedestrian crossings to ensure students safely reach school after getting out of vehicles.
Awareness programs will be held to encourage drivers to follow all the laws and regulations, pay attention while driving, and reduce speed in school areas.
School bus drivers will park in designated and safe spaces, in order for students to get on and off the bus and sit down, before moving.
Parents are advised to not allow children aged 10 years old and below to sit in the front seat, as well as to assist them in crossing the road during drop-offs and pick-ups.
