The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has announced a reduction in the government fees paid at hotels in Abu Dhabi.
The changes include:
- Reducing the tourism fees issued to guests from 6% to 4%
- Removal of the municipality fee, where Dhs 15 is charged per night
- While dining at restaurants in the hotel, the 6% tourism fee and 4% municipality fees will no longer be available
The 4% municipality fee on the value of the invoice on the hotel stay, will still be charged.
The decision will take effect on 1 September and aims to enhance the growth in the hospitality and tourism sector in Abu Dhabi.
