Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced that the 2023 edition of its Dubai Performing Arts Programme will begin this month.
The programme will run from 20 August to 30 September, and aims at providing a platform for budding talents to develop skills in singing, directing, acting and music. The Dubai Performing Arts Programme is hosted by Dubai Al Ahli Theatre and Dubai National Theatre.
A series of training sessions and interactive workshops will be held by experts in the performing arts industry.
The workshops will explore methods of selecting and analysing theatrical scripts, as well as managing actors, and preparing production costs and schedules for the theatrical performances.
Additionally, Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children will host four workshops specialised playing musical instruments, where the violin workshop will focus on Western and Arabic sounds, the Oud workshop to strengthen and develop skills as well as provide an introduction to Umm Kulthum's music, the piano workshop covering techniques and Arabic melodies, and the Arabic singing including voice exercises, group arrangements, and an introduction to local folk arts.
