Dubai Police Seized 491kg Of Drugs During Second Quarter Of 2023

During the second quarter of 2023, the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police have played a critical role in protecting the community, by clamping down on drug distribution in Dubai and internationally.

From April to June, 491kg of drugs and 3 million narcotic pills were confiscated. 

The drugs seized included cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, opium, marijuana, hashish, and other types of narcotic pills.

Over 49% of arrests were made by Dubai Police, for individuals linked to drug-related cases.

The police force also detected and blocked 560 social media accounts that were found promoting drugs, from April to June.

Dubai Police shared critical information on the shipment of drugs with countries including Australia, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, Philippines, Kuwait, Germany, India, Greece, United States, Indonesia and more, which led to the arrest of 28 suspects and 431kg of drugs confiscated.

Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, praised the efforts of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police, for ensuring the safety of the community and safeguarding them against the harmful effects of drugs.
