His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has gifted young Iraqi horse rider Lania Fakher, a herd of horses, after the loss of her mare.
The eight-year-old rider lost her horse, Jesno, which was given to her as a gift from her father when she was five years old.
Lania Fakher's horse fell sick and the young rider took care of her through her last days until she passed. A video posted on social media showed Lania Fakher mourning the loss of her horse.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed gifted Lania Fakher a herd of horses, after watching her video, and is supporting her dream to open an equestrian training centre in Kurdistan.
Lania Fakher continues to visit the grave of her trusted steed, with apples and sugar.
