The Dubai Police Advisory Council for Community Service has launched an initiative for inmates to use their culinary talents.
The aim of the initiative is to train inmates and develop their cooking skills, which can then be used as a life skill, once their life sentence is completed.
On completing the training programme, inmates will be given a certificate, which can then be used to work in the hospitality sector.
Around 30 inmates have benefitted from the initiative.
Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri said, "The initiative has featured several projects, including publishing a booklet authored by the inmates that contain cooking ingredients and recipes. The initiative has also provided inmates with training workshops in coordination with the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company."
