Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is set to increase Electric Vehicle (EV) Green Charging Stations in Dubai to 1,000 by 2025.
There are currently 370 EV Green Charging Stations with 680 charging points.
The stations offer ultra-fast chargers, fast chargers, direct current chargers, public parking chargers and wall chargers at fuel stations, public parks, and at DEWA customer happiness centres and shopping centres.
The EV Green Charger initiative was launched in 2015, with 14 registered electric vehicles, and has seen an increase to 11,000 in May 2023. By 2030, Dubai aims to have around 42,000 electric vehicles in the city.
The initiative aims to make Dubai one of the 'world’s best cities to drive', as well as increase the transition to clean energy.
