Dubai Municipality has announced that the improvement projects for public beaches in Dubai have been completed.

Taking 515,000 hours to complete, the projects were held at Al Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqeim 1, with Dhs 93 million spent to improve public beaches.

The upgrade of the beaches will enhance the experience of beachgoers by ensuring that the beaches are not affected by erosion due to strong winds.

Al Mamzar Corniche was extended by 340 metres, and 100 metres of a rocky belt was added, to maintain the stability of the beach.

Around 125,000 cubic metres of beach sand were added to Jumeirah Beach 1, with 160 metres of the beach extended.

Jumeirah Beach 3 also saw a rocky belt created, and 580,000 cubic metres of beach sand added.

An additional beach of 500 metres was added at Umm Suqeim 1, with stones on the rock barrier of the fishermen's port partially removed to expand the beach.
