His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Higher Committee Responsible for Overseeing Preparations for the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP28 UAE), has launched a website to increase sustainability in the UAE, ahead of COP28.
The website, Sustainable UAE, increases awareness of issues faced around the world and encourages individuals to take more effort to be more sustainable.
The steps taken by the UAE in the conservation of the planet will be highlighted on the website, as well as the efforts taken to make the country more sustainable for future generations.
The success stories of individuals in the UAE that have made a difference to promote a more sustainable world will also be highlighted.
The website will cover:
- 'Founding Father’s Legacy', where the works of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's efforts towards sustainability will be highlighted
- 'Climate Makers', which will focus on individuals undertaking innovative climate and environmental initiatives to build a sustainable future
- 'Road to Zero', which will highlight the UAE’s efforts in various fields to achieve net zero targets
- 'Green Architecture, which will feature some of the iconic and sustainable buildings in the country
- 'Reserve', which will come up with innovative solutions to protect natural ecosystems
COP28 will be held in in Dubai in November this year, declared as the Year of Sustainability.
