According to statistics released by the Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA), Dubai has licenced 143 new health facilities in the first quarter of 2023.
The total number of health facilities in Dubai now stands at 4,609, and shows a growth in the healthcare sector.
Dubai is currently home to 52 hospitals, 77 specialised clinics, 58 one-day surgery centres, 82 dental clinics, 122 clinics, 1,325 pharmacies, 414 optics centres, 160 nursing homes and 57 alternative medicine centres.
The healthcare facilities also offer a variety of medical services from advanced diagnostic procedures, specialised treatments and surgical procedures.
There are also 56,239 licenced healthcare professionals in Dubai, with plans to expand the sector by 10% to 15% over the coming years.
In 2022, Dubai's medical tourism grew with 674,000 medical tourists spending Dhs 992 million that year, an increase of Dhs 262 million from 2021.
